// Local Natives Update: Pitchfork Interview//

On writing the new record:

Pitchfork: Did you have any concrete ideas about changes you wanted to make?

Kelcey Ayer: We thought: “Let’s not put a harmony on every vocal, let’s not do a drum breakdown on every song.” We just wanted to make decisions that felt like they were benefitting the song, not just orchestration for the sake of orchestration.

Ryan Hahn: There were times during this writing process where we were a little uncomfortable with trying new things. But we got this synthesizer, and there’s electronic drums, and one song is purely made of sampled drums. It feels like our band, but we’re not doing the exact same thing again.

Taylor Rice: We hope that’s what people will think, too.

Hey guys, I made this today and I thought you may like it, so here it is. I’d love it if you could post it here, but even more so if you love it, then click the picture itself or click here and you can buy it as a print or poster. Thanks, from Will.
